Boxing Industry Veteran Sarah Fina Joins Split-T Management

NEW YORK (August 29, 2023) – Boxing industry veteran Sarah Fina has joined Split-T Management as an associate manager.

In her role, Fina will sign and bring talent to boxing’s top management firm.

”I am really excited to be part of a team like Split-T Management. David McWater has given me the opportunity to thrive in a position that is fulfilling for me, and I am excited to work with my new colleagues and sign elite talent to Split-T,” said Fina.

Born in Los Angeles and now calling Brooklyn home, Fina has served in many capacities in the boxing business by working for promoters like Gary Shaw and Greg Cohen as well as individual fighters such as undisputed lightweight champion Devin Haney.

Due to Fina’s nearly two-decade run in boxing, she has acquired many connections around the world, which will help her bring future world champions to the Split-T Management roster.

Fina’s first acquisition to Split-T Management was bringing former interim world champion Elhem Makhaled to the management company.

“I am excited to give Elhem new opportunities in the American market. We have already done great things like fighting for the undisputed world title. She is very marketable and beautiful. Elhem is very talented and she will become world champion.”




Andreas Katzourakis, Luis Acosta, Czarina McCoy & The Pro Debut of Donte Layne Tonight in Atlanta

NEW YORK (August 23, 2023) – Tonight in Atlanta, Four Split-T Management fighters will be featured on week for of the OTX Boxing Series that will be streamed live on DAZN beginning at 8:30 PM ET.

In an eight-round middleweight bout, undefeated Andreas Katzourakis will take on Raphael Igbokwe.

Katzourakis of Athens, Greece and now makes Los Angeles home, is 10-0 with eight knockouts. The 25 year-old has wins over Edward Brown (7-1) and Rodrigo Octavio Gonzalez (5-1-2). Katzourakis is coming off a fifth round stoppage over Marcelo Fabian Bzowski on June 17th in Houston.

Igbokwe of Houston is 16-4 with seven knockouts. The 30 year-old has two wins over Genc Plana as well as victories over Juan Carlos Rodriguez (18-2).

In a six-round lightweight fight, Luis Acosta will fight Christian Barreto Gonzalez.

Acosta of Houston is 13-1 with 12 knockouts. The heavy-handed 27 year-old Acosta won his first 12 bouts and is coming off a fourth round stoppage over Abdel Sauceda (11-1) on August 13, 2022 in Houston.

Gonzalez of Arecibo, Puerto Rico is 9-0 with seven knockouts. The 26 year-old Gonzalez is coming off a fifth round stoppage over Willy Morrillo Sanchez on August 5, 2022 in The Dominican Republic.

In a six-round lightweight contest, Czarina McCoy will be making her Split-T debut when she takes on Carisse Brown.

McCoy of Las Vegas is 11-1 with three knockouts. The 22 year-old McCoy is coming off a 10-round unanimous decision over Monica Henao on December 17, 2022 in Mexico.

Brown of Lakeland, Florida is 9-6 with six knockouts. The 36 year-old Brown has a win over previously undefeated Alicia Amaro (3-0)

In a four-round super middleweight fight, Donte Layne will make his pro debut against Nathan Mitchell.

The 20 year-old Layne is a native of Elmont, New York.

Layne began boxing at the age of eight after his family would have backyard fights, and young Donte wanted to go to the gym.

Layne had an 85 fight amateur career that saw him go 74-11. He won the 2015 and 2017 Junior Olympics as well as a 2017 Silver Gloves title. Layne also won four U.S. National titles, which included the 2021 Elite National Championship and the 2022 Elite National Golden Gloves and National Championship.

He competed at 165 pounds and will campaign as a super middleweight in the professional ranks.

The 6’1″ Layne is trained by Anthony Santiago and Kenyatta Harris.

Mitchell of Senatobia, Mississippi is 0-1-1.

Saturday night at The Showboat in Atlantic City, in a 10-round bout featuring Christopher Pearson taking on Derrick Webster for the NBA Super Middleweight championship.

Pearson of Selma, Texas is 17-3 with 12 knockouts. The 32- year-old Pearson won his first 13 bouts with wins over Arturo Crespin (10-2-1), Acaclo Jose Fereira (13-0-1), Steven Martinez (15-1), Siad El Harrak (12-2) and Janks Trotter (9-1-1). Pearson also has wins over Joshua Okine (28-6-1) and world title challenger Yamaguchi Falcao (16-0).

Webster of Glassboro, New Jersey has a record of 29-4 with 14 knockouts. The 41 year-old Webster is a 14 year-professional who has defeated Obodai Sai (23-1), Thomas Awimbono (25-5), Frankie Filippone (22-5-1), Francisco Cordero (38-9) and his last outing when he won a six-round unanimous decision over Christian Thomas on April 29th in Philadelphia.




Split-T Management Signs Amateur Standout Donte Layne

NEW YORK (August 23, 2023) – Split-T Management is pleased to announce the signing of Donte Layne to an exclusive management contract.

The 20 year-old Layne is a native of Elmont, New York.

Layne began boxing at the age of eight after his family would have backyard fights, and young Donte wanted to go to the gym.

Layne had an 85 fight amateur career that saw him go 74-11. He won the 2015 and 2017 Junior Olympics as well as a 2017 Silver Gloves title. Layne also won four U.S. National titles, which included the 2021 Elite National Championship and the 2022 Elite National Golden Gloves and National Championship.

Split-T Management Signs Former Interim World Champion Elhem Mekhaled

NEW YORK (August 23, 2023) – Split-T Management has signed former Interim world champion Elhem Mekhaled to a managerial contract.

Mekhaled, 32 years-old of Lyon, France has a record of 16-2 with three knockouts.

“I am very excited to sign with Split-T Management because they are a great management team. They have a lot of boxers who are at a high level and world champions like Teofimo Lopez. I look forward to getting good fights and big opportunities. I hope to fight again for the world title. Not only is my goal to become a world champion, but an undisputed champion,” said Mekhaled.

Mekhaled began boxing at the age of 20 as there was a boxing coach at school, and Elhem saw the ring and wanted to try her hand at the sweet science. Mekhaled then had a 40-fight amateur career that saw her make the Algerian National team.

Mekhaled turned professional on November 12, 2016 with a four-round unanimous decision over Jacinthe Berenguer. Mekhaled won her first 15 fights that saw her defeat Pauline Leconte (1-0-1).

On March 16, 2019, Mekhaled won the WBC Interim Super Featherweight title with a 10-round unanimous decision over Danila Ramos (7-0) in Barcelona. On February 4th, Mekhaled fought unified world champion Alycia Baumgardner for the Undisputed 130-lb title at The Theater at Madison Square Garden.

Elhem fought a valiant fight but came up just short in a gritty effort. Mekhaled is coming off a eight-round unanimous decision over Yuliya Kutsenko on May 28th in France.

The signing of Mekhaled is a collaboration and team effort between Split-T Management employees Sarah Fina and Brian Cohen.

LeAnna Cruz, Asa Stevens and Javier Zamarron Remain Undefeated in Atlanta

NEW YORK (August 22, 2023) – Four Split-T Management fighters remained undefeated over the weekend.

Friday night in Atlanta, LeAnna Cruz remained undefeated with a six-round unanimous decision over Maryguenn Vellinga in a flyweight bout.

Cruz landed 88 of 271 punches. Vellinga was 34 of 224.

Cruz, 111.6 lbs of Allentown, PA won by scores of 60-54 on all cards and is 6-0. Vellinga, 111.2 lbs of Park City, UT is 4-4-2.

Asa Stevens remained undefeated with a four-round split decision over D’Angelo Hopgood in a super bantamweight fight.

Stevens, 121.7 lbs of Waianae, HI won by scores of 40-36, 39-37 and Hopgood took a card 39-37.

Stevens landed 66 of 205 punches. Hopgood was 67 of. 273.

Stevens is 5-0. Hopgood, 121.2 lbs of Milwaukee is 2-2-1.

Javier Zamarron remained undefeated with a four-round unanimous decision over Sabastian Santiago in a featherweight bout.

In round one, Zamarron dropped Santiago with a perfect counter left to the head.

In round four, Zamarron with cut around the right eye,

Zamarron landed 87 of 265 punches. Santiago was 52 of 307.

Zamarron, 128.2 lbs of Milwaukee won by scores of 40-35 on all cards and is now 5-0. Santiago, 128.4 lbs of Cidra, PR is 0-2.

In The Dominican Republic, new Split-T signee Shamara Woods took a four-round unanimous decision over Rocio De Leon Query. Woods of Allentown, PA is now 3-0.

Woods will be right back in action as she will fight on a Probox TV card on September 20th in Plant City, Florida.




Money Powell IV, LeAnna Cruz, Asa Stevens and Javier Zamarron In Action On OTX Fight Card in Atlanta

NEW YORK (August 18, 2023) – Split-T Management fighters will once again be featured prominently on the OTX boxing series TONIGHT in Atlanta.

The fights will be streamed live on DAZN at 8 PM ET.

In an eight-round super middleweight bout, Money Powell IV will take on Shawn McCalman.

Powell of Fort Mitchell, Alabama is 13-1 with eight knockouts. The 25 year-old Powell is a six-year veteran who is coming off a second round stoppage over Fidel Monterrosa Munoz on February 26, 2022 in Atlanta.

McCalman of Aurora, Colorado is 13-0 with seven knockouts. The 29 year-old is a five year-professional defeated Marquis Moore (10-0) and in his last bout, McCalman stopped Bo Gibbs (23-3) on June 24th in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

In a six-round flyweight bout, undefeated LeAnna Cruz battles Maryguenn Vellinga.

Cruz of Allentown, PA is 5-0. The 25 year-old, who is managed Brian Cohen and promoted by Hard Hitting Promotions, is coming off a unanimous decision over former world title challenger Simone Da Silva on April 29th in Philadelphia.

Vellinga of Park City, Utah is 4-3-2 with two knockouts. The 41 year-old is a three-year professional and has a win over Indeya Smith. In her last outing, Vellimga won a four-round unanimous decision over Marlen Avila on May 5th in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Undefeated super bantamweight Asa Stevens will take on D’Angelo Hopgood in a four-round bout.

Stevens of Waianae, Hawaii is 4-0 with two knockouts. The 22 year-old is coming off a second round stoppage of 26 fight veteran Jenn Gonzalez on February 18th in Pomona, California.

Hopgood of Milwaukee is 2-1 with two knockouts. The 24 year-old is looking to get back in the win column after losing a decision to Victor Pelayo on January 28th in San Bernadino, California.

Undefeated featherweight Javier Zamarron will take on Sebastian Santiago-Fernadez in a four-round bout.

Zamarron of Sheboygan, Wisconsin is 4-0 with three knockouts. The 22 year-old stopped Prentice Canada on June 24th in Milwaukee.

Santiago-Fernandez of Cidra, Puerto Rico is 0-1.

At The Caribe Royale Resort in Orlando, Will Madera will take on Nestor Bravo in the main event of a card that will also be streamed by DAZN at 7 PM ET.

Madera of Albany, New York is 17-2-3 with 10 knockouts. The 32 year-old Madera has proven to take on and defeat all comers. Madera has wins over Victor Vazquez (1-0), Norbert Quick (6-0), Gabriel Duluc (11-2), Thomas Mattice (13-0-1) and Jamshidbek Najmitdonov (20-1). In Madera’s most recent outing, he dropped undefeated prospect Brandun Lee, but lost a decision on August 20, 2022 in Hollywood, Florida.

Bravo of Arecibo, Puerto Rico is 21-0 with 15 knockouts. The 29 year-old has quality wins over Emiliano Martin Garcia (16-3), Cristian Ruben (19-3-2), Roldolfo Fuentes (18-3-2) and Adrian Yung (28-7-3). In Bravo’s latest contest, Bravo and Jair Valtierra fought to a no-contest on February 25th in Orlando.

Both fighters weighed 140 lbs.




Split-T Management signs Undefeated Shamara Woods

NEW YORK (August 15, 2023) – Split-T Management has signed undefeated junior lightweight Shamara Woods.

“I am very excited to be working with Shamara Woods. She has a great story being that she is a single mother. She had an extensive amateur career and will make a huge impact when she is seen by a bigger platform. Thanks to ProBox and Chris Glover, Shamara will get that opportunity. I believe that Shamara has the capability to become a world champion and be a very marketable fighter inside and outside of the ring,” said Brian Cohen of Split-T Management.”

Said Woods, “I am super excited to sign with Brian and Split-T Management. I have seen him sign great fighters since 2018, I see that he has brought so many fighters to world titles, and it is great to sign with him. I am expecting to obtain a world title. My goal is to win world titles 130, 135 and 140 lbs.”

Woods, who is 2-0 is 27 years-old of Allentown, PA, and began boxing at the age of 14. She embarked on an amateur career that saw her compete in 37 fights and won the WBA International Amateur Title and three Undisputed Promotions Titles.

Dubbed ‘Pure Pefection”, Shamara also has a background in Muay Thai and Kickboxing.

Woods, who is a single mother of a seven year-old boy, turned professional on April 1st with a unanimous decision over Sarah Click in Orlando, Florida. Woods followed that up with a unanimous decision over former world title challenger Samone Da Silva on May 12th in Orlando.

Boxing runs in the family as her father was an amateur boxer.

Woods is trained by Fernando Arroyo and Rashad Mays.

Woods will be in action this Saturday against 31 fight veteran Rocio De Leon Query in the Dominican Republic.

Woods will come right back in action as she will fight on Probox TV on September 20th in Plant City, Florida.




Tyler Howard, David Navarro, Giovanni Marquez and Antonio Mireles Post Wins Over The Weekend

NEW YORK (August 15, 2023) – Four Split-T Management fighters posted big wins over the weekend in Atlanta and Glendale, Arizona.

in Atlanta, Tyler Howard won an eight-round majority decision over Raul Solomon in a middleweight bout.

In round one, Howard dropped Solomon with a left hook to the jaw.

That was the difference in the fight as Howard, 160 lbs of Crosville, Tennessee won by scores of 78-75 twice and 76-76 and is now 19-1. Solomon, 160 1/4 lbs of Long Beach, CA is 12-2.

David Navarro won a six-round unanimous decision over D’Angelo Fuentes in a featherweight bout.

Navarro, 127 lbs of Los Angeles won by scores of 60-54 twice and 58-56 and is now 6-1. Fuentes, 126.6 lbs of Coconut Creek, FL is 8-2.

Giovanni Marquez was impressive in stopping Nicky Vitone in round two of their six-round junior welterweight bout.

At the end of round one, Marquez landed a blistering combination that was punctuated by a perfect left hook to the head that sent Vitone to the canvas. In round two, Marquez hurt Vitone with a hard right and uppercut that set off a flurry that forced a referee stoppage at 59 seconds.

Marquez, 141.2 lbs of Houston is 6-0 with four knockouts. Vitone, 140.6 lbs of Pine Brook, NJ is 9-3-1.

Howard, Marquez and Navarro’s fights were part of the second edition of OTX Boxing on DAZN.

In Glendale, Arizona, 6’9″ heavyweight Antonio Mireles stopped DaJuan Calloway in the sixth and final round of their heavyweight bout.

Mireles was vicious in the final round as he landed a bevy of hard punches that snapped the head back of the nearly 400 lb. Calloway, and the fight was stopped at 1:48.

The 270 lb. Mireles of Des Moines, Iowa is now 8-0-1 with seven knockouts. Calloway, who tipped in at 391 lbs, is now 7-3.

Mireles is promoted by Top Rank, and the fight was seen live on ESPN+.




Tyler Howard, David Navarro and Giovanni Marquez in Action Tonight in Atlanta

NEW YORK (August 11, 2023) – Split-T Management fighters will be front and center in action over the coming weekend.

Friday night in Atlanta. three Split-T fighters will be in action on the second installment of the OTX Boxing series on DAZN at 8:30 PM ET.

Tyler Howard will be back in action after a 21-month layoff when he takes on Raul Solomon in an eight-round middleweight bout.

Howard of Crossville, Tennessee has a record of 19-1 with 11 knockouts. The 29 year-old Howard has quality wins over Isiah Seldon (12-1-1 & Cristian Olivas (16-3). Howard is coming off his first blemish when he lost to Ian Green on November 5, 2021 in Las Vegas,

Solomon of Long Beach, California is 12-1 with 10 knockouts. The 24 year-old is coming off a second round stoppage of Angel Hernandez on April 15th of Pomona, California.

In a six-round featherweight bout, David Navarro takes on D’Angelo Fuentes. Navarro of Hemet, California is 5-1 with three knockouts. The 23 year-old Navarro has won three straight, and is coming off a second round stoppage over Luis Cambero on October 21, 2022 in Atlantic City.

Fuentes of Coconut Creek, Florida is 8-1 with five knockouts. The 24 year old has already defeated Justice Bland (5-1) and his last fight, which was a second round stoppage over previously undefeated Kevin Ford (4-0) on October 7, 2022 in Bensalem, PA.

Also seeing action in Atlanta will be former National Golden Gloves champion Giovanni Marquez. Marquez will take on Nicky Vittone in a six-round junior welterweight bout.

Marquez, 22 of Houston, Texas is 5-0 with three knockouts. Marquez began his pro career with a win over undefeated Nelson Morales. In his last bout, Marquez won a six-round unanimous decision over Bryan Springs on April 1st in Houston.

Vittone of Pine Brook, New Jersey is 9-2-1 with seven knockouts. The 27 year-old is looking to get back in the win column after being stopped by Jordan Rosario on April 1st in Paramus, New Jersey.

Saturday in Glendale, Arizona, undefeated heavyweight Antonio Mireles takes on Dajuan Calloway in a six-round bout.

The 6’9″ Mireles is 7-0 with six knockouts. Mireles has already defeated undefeated fighters Brandon Hughes (2-0) and Eric Perry (5-0-1). In his last outing, The native of Des Moines, Iowa went the distance for the first time and took home a decision win over Patrick Mailta (6-1) on March 25th in Fresno, California.

Calloway of Warrensville Heights, Ohio is 7-2 with seven knockouts. The capable 31 year-old has a first round stoppage over Kahlil Smoot (8-1) on his ledger. Calloway is coming off two consecutive stoppage wins, with the latest being a first-round win over Alex Davis on June 24th in Cleveland.

Oshae Jones and Haven Brady Jr. remain Undefeated with Victories in Atlanta

NEW YORK (August 8, 2023) – Last Friday night at the Overtime Elite Arena in Atlanta, Split-T Management fighters Oshae Jones and Haven Brady remained undefeated with victories on the inaugural OTX Boxing show.

Jones of Toledo, Ohio won an eight-round unanimous decision over Miranda Barber in a junior middleweight bout.

Jones, the 2020 United States Olympic Bronze medal winner controlled the action and won by shutout scores of 80-72 on all cards to raise her mark to 4-0.

Barber of Boca Raton, Florida is 3-5.

Brady of nearby Albany, Georgia win a six-round unanimous decision over previously undefeated Andre Rene Rodriguez in a junior lightweight contest.

The 21 year-old Brady also pitched a shutout to the tune of 60-54 on all cards to make him a perfect 10-0.

Rodriguez of Phoenix is 9-1.

The bouts were part of the OTX series that began and will continue for the next three Friday’s on DAZN. Split-T Management will be well represented on all the shows. Appearing this week will be middleweight Tyler Howard, featherweight David Navarro & super lightweight Giovanni Marquez
